Memory should create continuity, not a dossier
Elyvie uses two levels of memory. A rolling summary preserves the thread of a long conversation. Structured long-term memories keep durable facts, preferences, events, relationship moments, and co-created story canon available across sessions.
The goal is selective recall. A character should remember the birthday you mentioned or a promise made in a shared story, without repeating a list of facts back at you. Memory supports the character’s natural voice; it does not replace it.
